Star Trek's 50th anniversary honoured with celebratory exhibition

"Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds" is filled with geeky artifacts from all the Star Trek series and movies from sections of the original Enterprise bridge to a costume worn by Benedict Cumberbatch in the latest movie. The uniform worn by every captain is on display and one of only two phasers still in existence from the original series is on display among more than 100 props and artifacts. Keep an eye out for the tribbles that apparently escaped from their display case. There are half a dozen scattered around.Exhibit curator Brooks Peck says the messages in the franchise is what has allowed it to last so long."Star Trek espouses these values that people really believe in. It shows us at our best, working together to do an amazing task. Explore the galaxy."I think that vision, those ideas just get people excited. That just keeps Star Trek going year after year."
